Conjuring up Anything that’s better Than what’s really Here? She says it’s not about Being good It’s not about Being bad. What could Alchemy do With the Nothingness Inside me? She says I’m Whole & Loves the Real Fleshy Human— She loves something Knows something More True Than I do. I want to understand This love I want to know Grace Like she knows it I want to know What it’s like to be Changed by Love itself I want to know what it’s like To resurrect something so Nourishing from Nothing. Deservedness, Like all my Aims at goodness May be meaningless after all. My best is Tears in my soup Sorry from my mouth Shaking hands Head hanging low Trying too hard Caring too much. Is there anything To be Redeemed In me? Everything is Rotting Even I want to leave this Stench And still she Stays. They say Grace is Freely given. I want to trust I want to be Made worthy I want to meet This love With my best… Oh wait, That’s more of the Same More Shame. Even so She deserves more I pray to be more Than Fools gold.
